The new Worlds song, “Burn It All Down”, for Worlds 2021 was released on 29 September. The song featured PVRIS (pronounced “Paris”), a synth-pop music group, while the music video was animated by Haoliners Animation.

The song was heavily inspired by techno with an up-tempo melody and a strong bassline. The animation involved not just 2D animation but also 3D animation. The fight scenes contained smooth fluid motion and beautiful choreography.

“Cannot get over the animation in this! A huge congratulations to the hundreds of animators who spent the past eight months bringing this extraordinary vision to life!” - PVRIS

The video featured numerous prominent League of Legends stars ,with the leads being Heo “Showmaker” Su from DWG KIA, shown at the beginning looking at a video featuring Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok from T1 with the title of “Eternal King of LCK”, Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo from TES, and Martin “Rekkles” Larsson from G2.

The video also featured 19 other stars such as BeryL & Canyon (DWG KIA), Chovy (Hanwha Life Esports), Pyosik (DRX), Lwx & Doinb (FPX), TheShy & Rookie (Invictus Gaming), Bin (Suning), GALA (RNG), Viper (EDward Gaming), Wunder (G2), Carzzy & Armut (MAD Lions), Hans sama (Rogue), Blaber (Cloud9), PowerOfEvil (TSM), brTT (paIN Gaming) and fNb (Vorax).

All the competitors duke it out in different arenas alongside local players, showing off their pro skills and absolutely demolishing them. Afterwards, it showed the three main leads choosing their characters, Showmaker picking Syndra, Rekkles picking Jhin, and JackeyLove picking Kai’Sa. Then, they were transported to Shenzhen, where the event was originally supposed to be held.

The video ends with the three leads, Showmaker, JackeyLove, and Rekkles, battling each other, wielding the power of their main champions, alongside other competitors as well.

Overall, the response from fans around the world have been great although some have commented that the song was not up to par with the previous Worlds songs that they have released in the past. Meanwhile, the animation received amazing feedback along with the storyboarding of the video.

The 2021 League of Legends World Championship will begin on October 5 in Reykjavík, Iceland. The Grand Finals will be on November 6, the same day that Arcane, Riot’s Netflix animated series, will premiere.
