On 10 October 2021, Timothée Chalamet, an actor, shared the first look of his version of a younger Willy Wonka in the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel, Wonka. Which is set to be in theaters on March 17, 2023.

This sneak peek was released hours after Warner Bros revealed the cast for the film and announced that filming on the project had begun. Alongside Chalamet, the cast includes Rowan Atkinson, Keegan Michael-Key, Jim Carter, Mathew Baynton, Olivia Colman, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rich Fulcher, Sally Hawkins, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar, and Ellie White.

To the people who have no idea what the lovable children's book “Charlie and the chocolate factory” is, the story follows young Charlie Bucket and his Grandpa Joe as they join a small group of contest winners who get to tour the magical and mysterious factory of eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka. Aided by his Oompa Loompa workers, Wonka has a hidden motivation for the tour, one that he will reveal only after the children in the group show their true colors. The overall moral of the story was that children who are honest and well-behaved will be rewarded.

Wonka will serve as a prequel to the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and stars Timothée Chalamet, as the legendary role of Willy Wonka. The films follow young Willy Wonka’s early adventures before opening the world's most famous chocolate factory. This sums out all that we currently know about the new Wonka movie.
